Rungus longhouses are located in the northern part of Sabah. The drive from Kota Kinabalu takes about 3 hours passing through mountains, valleys, oil palm plantation and jungles. The Rungus tribe is a sub-group from the DusunKadazan. The Rungus is one of the few ethnic tribes that maintain the old way of living in longhouses and spiritual beliefs. The longhouses are built on stilts and comprise several quarters or known as Valai in the local language. Each valai is made up of areas for sitting, dining, sleeping, with an attic and is occupied by a family. The Rungus are well known for their beads and needle work. Their hand made bead products of ornament such as necklaces, bracelets and many more are very well crafted and colourful.

Itinerary
DAY 01 - KOTA KINABALU / KUDAT (L, D)

Depart Kota Kinabalu for about 1 hour drive to Kota Belud, with a visit to
Parang Making at Kg. Siasai. We will enroute for lunch at a local restaurant.
Proceed on another 2 hours drive to Kudat and visit a honeybee farm at
Kg. Gombizou and Gong Making at Kg. Sumangkap. Continue journey
to Rungus longhouses at Kg. Bavanggazo. Upon arrive, check into the
longhouse. Today, we will make a visit to some of the Rungus family. Dinner will be an exotic serve of local Rungus cuisine followed by a performance of traditional dance. Overnight at Bavanggazo Longhouses.

DAY 02 - KUDAT / KOTA BELUD / KOTA KINABALU (B)
After breakfast, depart for Kota Belud Sunday Market for special bargain with the locals. Transfer back to Kota Kinabalu in the afternoon.
