Kota Belud is located at the northern part of Sabah. It is 70KM away from Kota Kinabalu. The town lies on the banks of the Kadamaian River and Tempasuk River at the foothills of Mount Kinabalu. The town is famous for the Bajau Horsemen, horse riding skills and colourful authentic costumes. Kota Belud open-air market or “Tamu” as it is called in the local language, is the biggest market in Sabah, where farmers, fisherman, vendors trade their fresh produce, handicrafts, local cakes and snacks.
Itinerary Depart at 0700 hours for Kota Belud. The journey passes scenic countryside with plains and villages. At the “tamu”, it will be the best time for you to try your best bargaining skills with the locals. Take time to stroll the market and find interesting or unusual things and products on sales.
