» Kota Kinabalu Dive Trip
Tunku Abdul Rahman Park RM 307.00 (US$ 96.00) The marine park is a cluster of island comprising Gaya Island, Sapi Island, Manukan Island, Mamutik Island and Sulug Island, all only about 10-20 minute speed boat ride from the city of Kota Kinabalu. Our dive base is located in Mamutik Island where divers gear up for a dive around more then 15 dive sites at the Marine Park. The five islands of the Marine park are characterized by shallow waters, sumptuous coral gardens and all boast white sandy beaches. The reefs lie in shallow waters with little current making it ideal location for novice divers, however the diverse and sometimes rare marine creatures also make it an interesting dive location for experienced divers. Amongst the sandy sea bed a good variety of marine life can be found such as scorpion fish, blue spotted stingrays, cuttlefish, mantis shrimp and the occasional sea turtle. At some locations, rare creature such as harlequin ghost pipe fish and frogfish can be found especially with the help of our divemaster. During the cooler months from November-February, plankton blooms attract krill which in turn attract whale sharks, the worlds largest fish.
